Can I drive myself on the day of surgery?
No, you cannot drive yourself to surgery or home from surgery. You should also not be driving later that day.
Can I drive myself to the post-op appointment the next day?
No, you should plan on having a driver for both your surgery and the appointment the day after.
When can I start driving?
This will be determined by your surgeon at your day 1 post-op appointment.
Can I eat the day of surgery?
Yes, you are allowed to eat a light breakfast or lunch low in fat. This meal should not be within two hours of your arrival time for surgery.
Can I wear makeup to surgery?
Absolutely NO makeup is allowed on the day of surgery.
Should I be stopping my aspirin?
Your surgeon prefers you stop taking aspirin one week prior to surgery. Please check with your primary care physician to determine if this is ok.
When can I return to swimming?
Two weeks after your surgery.
When can I lift weights/exercise?
A week after your surgery.
I have facial hair. Do I have to shave it off for surgery?
No, you do not have to. However, please keep it cleaned and trimmed.
When can I take a shower?
The day following surgery. However, avoid getting water in the eye.
